He is Risen

Easter Greetings,

He is Risen

Matt 28:5-6

5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. KJV

Luke 24:5
Why seek ye the living among the dead?
KJV
Sometimes we get so caught up in the things of the past or in the grief over someone we loved dying that we forget to live. Sometimes our mistakes we made seem to keep us from going forward. The past is dead. We can’t do anything to change it. So why not this beautiful Easter morning make a fresh start and begin to live. Striving to be all God wants us to be.
This Easter as we think about the resurrection of Jesus, we really need to think the significance of what His death meant for us.
You see when Jesus was in the garden praying for His Father (God) to take the cup from Him, yet He said “Never the less not my will but thine be done” Jesus knew in that cup was all the sins man had ever committed or would commit. He knew what it was to be the abuser as well as the abused. He knew what it was to be the violator as well as the violated. He knew what it was to be the murderer as well as the murdered. Jesus knew what it felt like to have every disease known to man. Yet He still went to the cross for you and me. Why? Because that was the only way God knew to change the curse after Adam and Eve sinned against Him.
There is a lady in our church who has 3 little boys. They are 6, 5 and 4. Those boys are full of fun, mischief and life. Last Saturday they went to a birthday party for their cousin. At the party they were each given a basket of Easter candy and a balloon. Tristian looked through his candy and found a chocolate covered marshmallow bunny. Last year the boy’s grandma went home to be with Jesus. As Tristian looked at that bunny he told his mom “mom I have to send this bunny to Grandma”. His mom tried to explain to him that Grandma was in Heaven and that Jesus would give her some chocolate covered bunnies. Tristian started to cry and explained again to his mom that he knew his grandma needed that bunny because they were her favorite candy. He then tried to tie the bunny to his balloon to get it to heaven. The bunny was too heavy and wouldn’t lift off the ground. His mom went to the store and bought 20 helium balloons and with all the family, dad, mom and the three boys standing in the yard with tears in their eyes, they again tied the Easter bunny to the balloons and sent it off to their grandma in Heaven.
Jesus is waiting with open arms to offer you His love and all the blessings Heaven has to offer, if you will just accept them. He will give you life! In fact He will give you an abundant life; it is not for when you get to heaven. It is for now. His dying and rising again was so we could have an abundant life spiritually, physically, mentally and financially now. Maybe we need to be like Tristian and become determined to get the blessings from God the way he was determined to send his Easter bunny to his Grandma.
Have a most blessed Easter and remember the GREAT I AM
Joy
