A Sweet Fragrance

2 Corinthians 2:14-15 (Amplified Bible)

14 But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,
15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:
I was doing my other daily devotional from 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, I glanced across the page and felt this was the scripture to share with you today.
How does our life measure up? Are we being lead in TRIUMPH in Christ or have we forgotten who is in control of our lives. Are we being a witness and sweet smelling savour to the world. Can a non Christian see Christ in us? Are we being an effective witness for Him?
Are we a sweet fragrance to God; or do we leave a bad smell in his nostrils?
I don't know about you, I want to live my life in the Center of God's will and to abide in Him to the extent that I am sweet smelling to Him and to others.
Praise the Lord.
Bless His Holy Name.
Have a great day in the Lord.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Amen! I look forward to reading your devotional each morning. The song that goes through my mind during those discouraging times is “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in his wonderful face….will grow faintly dim.” Have a good day.
Judy
I received this email from my cousin who was responding to a daily devotional I send to family and friends vie email.
When things seem to get rough and we become discouraged, we need to do as this song says and "Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face and the things of earth will grow faintly dim in the light of His Glory and Grace".
Praise the Lord we have a Father that cares about us. It doesn't matter what we've done or whether we are rich or poor he LOVES US. I am rich in Him.
John 15:7-8
When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified; and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.
If you live in Me--abide vitally united to ME--and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will and it shall be done for you. Amplified
Praise the Lord!
God bless you today!

Getting Answers From God

Jeremiah 33:3

Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand). (Amplified)

Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.KJV

I memorized this verse from the Kings James Version many years ago. Today as I was reading it from the Amplified version I thought I would put both in so you could see how a different translation can explain it a little better.
I am so thankful that all we need to do when we are perplexed or troubled is to call unto God and he will answer us. It may not be the way we want him to answer, but he does answer.
He is showing me so many things, first things I didn't understand about myself and second things I didn't understand about other people.
As my understanding in the Lord grows, so does my understanding of others. I am so thankful that my loving Father does not give up on me when I ask him questions, to others they might seem silly, or dumb; but to my Father they are just questions waiting for his answer.
I feel so blessed.
Yesterday in the mail, I got 3 music CD'S from The Naylors. They are such a blessing. Until a few weeks ago I didn't know who they were, but with my getting on the Internet and looking for Christian Blogs I found their Forum. God knew I needed some additional encouragement so he opened up the Internet for me to meet other Christians and fellowship.
I Praise His Holy Name.
Have a blessed day in the Lord.

Grant Us Thy Salvation!

Psalms 85:7-13
7 Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.KJV

I am so thankful I can do as David did in this psalm and ask God for mercy. I can also ask Him for his salvation.
When I take time to listen, I can hear Him speaking peace to me.
He will give me that which is good. Sometimes it may look like God is not listening to my heart's cry. BUT HE IS. I need to learn to wait on Him, not get ahead of what the Lord desires for my life.
How about you, do you forget to wait on the Lord for his answer?
Do you sometimes do things your way, only to find out you've made a mess of things? I know I have. I am trying very hard to stop that and to wait on the Lord to hear and answer my prayers.
I am glad that He shows us His truth. The Lord will give us that which is good. Praise His Name.
Have a blessed day in the Lord.

I Will Sing

Psalms 89:1-7
1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.KJV
Isn't it great to know that we can sing of the mercies of the Lord: It is wonderful to say we know the LORD and can give praise to him.
Our God is full of mercy and compassion. He does care about everything we are going through. Just keep remembering this to will pass.
I am so thankful that our loving Father, leads and guides us into his love and truth. It should be easy to offer him praise after all he has done for us.
I sometimes just sit and marvel at all the things my loving father has done for me.
I look around at the beauty of this land of mine, the sunrises, trees, flowers, ocean, sunsets, and all the animals and praise and thanksgiving just overflow in my heart; to know my father made it all for my enjoyment. I just want to praise him all the time.
May you have a blessed day in the Lord.

The Earth is the Lord's!

Psalms 24:1-5
1 The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.KJV
The last week has been rather hectic for me. However, I find that when I begin my day by spending time with the Lord, both in the Word and in prayer; my day goes better.
I look around me at the beautiful things God created for my enjoyment and my heart just lifts in praise to him.
I pray as you begin this new week that you take a moment to appreciate the beauty around you.
May you feel the peace and joy in your heart to carry you through the difficult times.
God's blessings be upon you today.

I The Lord Will Hear Them

Isaiah 41:17-20
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.KJV
I am so thankful I know the MASTER. He has said he will not forsake me. He also said he would give me water when I am thirsty, food when I am hungry, rest when I am weary, joy when I'm sad, peace when I am troubled. He will work miracles for me so others will see and know that he is the Holy One of Israel.
Praise His Holy Name.
May you have a Blessed Sunday in the Lord.

God's Hearing

Isaiah 59:1
BEHOLD, THE Lord's hand is not shortened at all, that it cannot save, nor His ear dull with deafness, that it cannot hear.

Isn't it wonderful to know that the God we love and pray to is not deaf. He can hear our softest whisper. He can even read our minds when we are to weak to speak. Our God is a loving Father, he wants to give us the desires of our hearts.
His will is to save us.

3 John 1:2-4
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.KJV
Herein lies the key to what happens in our life. We are to prosper and be in health even as our SOUL prospers.
May you have a prosperous day in the Lord.

Rest in the Lord

Psalms 37:1-7
1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.KJV
I am so thankful that when God commissions us to do something he also gives us clear directions on how to do it.
In verse 3, He says to trust in him, and to do good; when we do that, then he says we will live in the land and we will be fed.
In verse 4, He says to delight our self in the Lord, and he will give us the desires of our heart. Are the things you want happening? I am examining myself to see if maybe I'm not delighting myself in the Lord.
In verse 5, He says to commit our way unto Him, trust also in Him and he shall bring it to pass.
In verse 7, He says REST in the Lord, and to wait patiently for him.
I think this is the key to all the verses, the Lord says to REST in Him, and to wait patiently. In this hurry up world we live in, it is easy to give a quick prayer, figure out in our minds what we think God wants and jump in and do what we want.
When we begin to really TRUST the Lord, we will spend time in prayer and REST in Him until he gives us clear directions on what we have asked of Him.
May you have a blessed day in the Lord.

Speak the Word Only

Matthew 8:5-10
5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.KJV

How great is your faith? Can people come to you and say "speak the word only" and expect to be healed? Do we have enough faith in the Lord to be able to be used to not only heal someone, but lead them in accepting the Lord as their savior? Do we have enough boldness to speak up and let others know what God is doing in our lives? My prayer is Lord, help me to know you to the extent that I have the faith to pray with someone and expect you to meet their need.

May God bless and keep you in His love today.

If you need prayer

In talking with the Lord this morning, I felt led of Him to include an invitation to you; if you need prayer or need to share things in your life, please feel free to contact me. My email address is jphd08@yahoo.com
I will petition the Father for your need. I don't give advice, however I will try to find a scripture to help you with your request.
I want you to know whatever you share will not be talked about or shared with others.
May God continue to lead you and guide you into all Truth.

Jesus is our Answer

I wrote a poem September 25, 2006, the day of my son's birthday.
I thought I would share it with you today.

I can worry and stew
Or Lord I can wait on you
Knowing your words are true
I can get myself into debt
Or know you haven’t failed me yet.
I can spend my days all upset
Or lean on you and have quiet rest.
Knowing you will give me the best
I can walk around all sad and down
Or stand straight and tall
With my head up
Knowing you care about me
Whether great or small
Lord I can wait on you
To see me through.
I can walk each day with a smile
Knowing you are with me all the while.
Lord I can moan and groan
Or take my burdens to you alone.
Knowing you will meet my every need
If I keep my heart free of greed.
I know you will surround me with love
When you look down from heaven above.
Thank you Lord for your blessings
On me today
As I seek to travel your way.
This morning this thought came to me.
Call unto Him
Help is ever near
Remember His promises
I AM
Seek Him
Trust Him to see you through
Have a blessed day in Him

Thiristing for God!

Psalms 63:1 -11
1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.KJV

I want to know God like this psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
It would seem with all the modern conveniences I have to help me get things done faster, I would have more time to get to know the Lord better.
It seems just the opposite is true. I get so busy with the daily things that need to be done, sometimes if I am not careful I forget to include God. He is always in my heart; however, it needs to be more than that. I need to be in his word and in daily communion with him.
I want to know beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is my God. Early will I pray to him and study his word.
His lovingkindness is better than anything in this life. I will praise his holy name with my whole heart.
I will go around with a joyful heart and joyful lips.
I can rest in the shadow of his wings and know I will be safe.
Praise his name.
May you have a blessed day in the Lord!

God Granting That Which You've Requested!

1 Chronicles 4:10 (KJV)

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

This verse amazes me. Not because of the verse itself; but because this is the only time in the Bible Jabez is mentioned. Somehow this simple prayer of his to God touched the heart of God so much; that not only did God answer his prayer; but had the prayer put into the scriptures.
I pray this prayer quite often. Only I say: And Joy called on the God of Israel, saying Oh God bless me and enlarge my ministry. May your hand be with me. Please keep me from evil and temptation, so I may not grieve or sin against you or me. I believe God has granted that which I have requested.
I pray you will have a great day in the Lord.

Triump In Christ

2 Corinthians 2:14-15
14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:KJV
I am so thankful that when we walk with Jesus we can triumph in Christ.
The dictionary gives this meaning to triumph:
1. to celebrate victory or success.
2. to obtain victory
The noun part
1. the joy or exultation of victory or success.
2. conquest
I can experience victory in my daily walk with the Lord.
I don't have to live a life of fear, rejection or lack of want.
I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus.
I am a daughter of the King.
The wonderful thing is it is not just for me, you can be more than a conqueror as you begin to walk in the realm of the King.

Keeping that which I've Committed.

2 Timothy 1:12 (KJV)
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
This morning as I was praying this verse came to mind. I am so thankful that no matter what we go through, our God is able to keep the things we've asked him to do until he is ready to answer them.
Sometimes we forget that when we pray (say for a loved one to get saved) that God would answer that prayer immediately, except the person we are praying for has a will and they have to be ready to accept salvation in order for God to answer our prayer.
We should never give up praying or believing for it to happen. Just keep in mind that God has to get us ready for the answer.
Sometimes he answers right away and the answer is yes. Sometimes his answer might be a resounding NO. That one is harder for us to accept. Sometimes the answer might be wait awhile. Whatever the prayer, always remember he will answer.
I am fully persuaded that he will keep that which I've committed unto him against that day.
God Bless You this beautiful day.

My Heritage

This morning as I was doing my daily devotional to family, I began to think about my heritage.
Dad and mom had twelve children. Dad and mom were in the ministry part of the time I was growing up. Dad also worked some in the iron mines in Minnesota. From the time I was ten, dad wasn't able to do much because of an injured back.
Some of us was talking the other day, looking back on that time in our lives, we realized that we were probably beyond poor. However, we never felt that way. Why, because dad and mom had a unshakable faith in the God they served and loved with all their hearts. They taught us kids to have faith that God would supply our needs. He would take care of us. Maybe we didn't have the things to eat we wanted, going out to a restaurant was unheard of and even some of the basic foods were beyond our budget. At one time I can remember we ate boiled rabbit and boiled dandelion greens, or ferns as we didn't have any thing else. However, we had love and fun growing up. Daddy was a great storyteller, I can remember sitting at his feet many times while he told us stories.
We were RICH in a sharing, caring and loving family.
In thinking about what is going on in this country today, and about all the throw away kids or kids that only watch TV is really sad. Some kids have everything money can buy and still get into trouble; I think part of that is the parents buy them things to replace time spent with them which is really sad.
Yes when I look back on my childhood I was RICH. Maybe not in money, but in the areas of love, family, being taught spiritual things, and having a dad and mom who not only cared about us kids, but listened to us as well.
I am most blessed!
Psalms 108:1
O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

Enjoy the Day!

Psalm 108:5 (KJV)
5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;
As you go about your day today,
look around you; see the beauty God has put here for us to enjoy. Try to forget about your aches and pains, your problems and just rejoice in the day the Lord has made special for you today.
May you have a most BLESSED day!

What is on your Mind?

Philippians 4:6-9
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.KJV

Sometimes I think we need to write verse 8 upon out foreheads for others to see, we also need to write them in out heart to remember what Paul is telling the early Christians.
If I'm not careful I will let all kinds of thoughts into my mind that are harmful. I can tell myself I'm sick, or when I had a really bad pain in my rib cage I thought I was having gall bladder problems and would have to have another surgery. For the past few months I've had extreme pain in my tailbone area. I just knew it was turning into cancer. I had to change my thought pattern and begin to speak health and healing to myself.
Sometimes unkind thoughts toward another person will lead to us wanting something bad to happen to them. This is not right.
Paul says to think on the things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of a good report.
As you go about your day today. Take time to analyze your thoughts, do you worry a lot, get stressed, grumble, say mean things to someone else?
What do your thoughts revolve around?
Paul says if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
May God Bless you!

God's Kindness

Isaiah 54:10
10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

Good morning.
I had a devotional on Praise, I forgot to save it while I was asking for help so lost it.
I will work on it for another time.
The Lord brought this scripture to mind, so it is the one for today.
I am so thankful that God is not only kind toward us, but he also says he will not remove his peace from us. I am glad I know my Lord and that his word says he will take care of me not only in the larger things in my life, but the small things as well.
He goes on to say he will have mercy on me. I am so thankful that when I make a mistake God does not give up on me. He just keeps on working with me to do better next time.
Praise His Holy Name!
Have a Blessed Day in the Lord!

Giving God Praise

Here are some scriptures to get your day and week started.
Ps 7:1
O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust:
Ps 8:1
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
Ps 9:1-2
I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

Ps 16:1
Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

Ps 18:1-3
I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.I like to get up each morning and read scriptures on giving our Lord Praise. It seems to make my whole day go better.

May God give you strength for the day.
Peace for the trials.
Joy for the fun of it.
Love to surround your loved ones
and hope for tomorrow.
God Bless You!

Gifts of the Spirit/Fruit of the Spirit

1 Corinthians 12:8-11
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.KJV

Gifts of the Spirit
1. Word of wisdom
2. Word of knowledge
3. Faith
4.Gifts of healing
5. Working of miracles
6. Prophecy
7. Discerning of spirits
8. Divers kinds of tongues
9. Interpretation of tongues

Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.KJV

Fruit of the Spirit
1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Longsuffering
5. Gentleness (Kindness)
6. Goodness
7. Faith (faithfulness)
8. Meekness
9. Temperance
I find it interesting that there are the same number of gifts as there are fruit of the Spirit.
I am going to ask God to help me desire and seek for all of the gifts as well as to live all the fruit of the Spirit.
Have a blessed day.

God's Thoughts

Isaiah 55:8-13
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.KJV
I am so thankful that we don't have to know all the details God has for us. He has said he would never leave us or forsake us. That should be good enough. So why do we worry and wonder about our life and how to make ends meet when the Lord has said he would take care of all of that.
The Word of God says his word that goes out will bear fruit. It will accomplish what the Lord pleases, not what we want to have happen, but what god wants.
He will send us out with joy, and be led forth with peace; praise his name.
Have a blessed day.

Homegoing

Psalms 116:15
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.KJV
I was thinking this morning that it has been one year today that my husband of 41+ years went home to be with the Lord.
I told my sister, when she asked me how I was doing that it has been an incredible year. Not only did my husband die, my youngest brother died unexpectedly in June. I had two major surgeries. But you know what? My loving Father was so awesome and provided for me in ways I never expected. He has met my every need and gave me some extra things as well. I am so blessed. God has been faithful to me. As I am getting to know Him more he is wrapping me in his love.
Praise his name.
Have a blessed day.

The Plans For Your Life

Jeremiah 29:11-14
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.KJV
As I was reading my Bible and talking with the Lord this morning, about some health issues he brought these scriptures to mind.
I am so thankful that my Lord knows the plan for my life. He let me know that He doesn't want anything evil to happen to me. He wants my life filled with peace and to give me hope.
In order to have that peace and hope and yes to know the plan the Lord has for me, I need to call upon Him. I need to seek Him and find Him when I pray to Him and seek Him with my whole heart.
I am so glad we have a Lord we can go to not only when we are troubled about life's problems, but in the good times as well.
Psalms 34:1
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.KJV
That is my desire to bless the Lord at all times; and to praise Him continually.
May God Bless you this day.

Yellow Majesty

Yellow Rose, originally uploaded by nanapat.

Psalms 93:1

The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.KJV
When I look at this rose, I think of God in all of His majesty; my mind can't even begin to comprehend the majestic nature of God.A rose to smell the best has to be crushed and an oil extracted from it in order for the fragrance to be at it's peak. Sometimes we have to go through a spiritual crushing for us to be the sweet smelling fragrance God desires of us.
May God Bless you this day.

For Ever, O Lord

Psalms 119:89-90
89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.KJV

Today God's faithfulness came through for me again.

I got blessed with having a doggy door put in my front door. Now my dog can come and go without my having to jump up and open the door for her whenever she wants to go out.

A gentleman from my church Sunday, asked me if someone had put it in for me. When I told him no, he came up and did it. Now I know that doesn't sound like much, but to me it let me know God had not forgotten that I wanted a doggy door.

I am a widow and although I can do a lot of things, cutting holes in doors is not something I wanted to attempt. I am thankful God watches out for me and takes care of the little things I need as well as the big things.

I praise his Holy Name.

May you have a blessed day.

Blessing or Cursing

James 3:8-18
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
KJV
These verses came to my mind about 3:30 am. I was thinking about the words that come out of my mouth to other people. Are they words of encouragement or words that tear that person down. Am I using the words out of my mouth to poison another? Do I speak blessings on that person or do I speak curses not only to another person, but what am I speaking to myself?
If when talking with someone, I say man you make me tired. Am I saying I want to be tired so my body responds.
If I say to that person, you make me sick; will I become sick? Probably if that is what I'm speaking to myself.
I believe we need to be very careful we don't speak curses on others or ourselves. Let's choose this day to speak blessings.
May god richly bless you.

Bless The Lord

Ps 103:1-5
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.KJV
I am so thankful I can bless the Lord. I woke up this morning with these scriptures on my mind. What a privilege to be able to praise and worship the Lord in freedom. I am blessed beyond measure. I praise god for his healing, keeping me from destruction, He crowns me with love and tenderness. He gives me good things to eat and my youth is restored. Praise His Name.
I'm off to church. May you have a blessed day.

Stream of Light

Psalms 1:3
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.KJV
When we become grounded in the Word of God, we will be able to withstand the storms of life that surround us. We will be planted so deep in Him that we will not be moved.
Our Father will take care of us and we will not fade away.
Praise God.

Jehovah-Jireh

Gen 22:14
And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.KJV
Phil 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.KJV
This morning as I was visiting with my sister about my financial situation, she reminded me of who is the SOURCE of my finances. It is the Lord.
I remember in 1994 I got to go to college for the first time. I was so excited. When I started classes, I noticed most if not all the students were wearing blue jeans and sweatshirts. I didn't have anything but dress clothes. So I asked my God for some jeans and sweatshirts as these things didn't fit into my finances. That week I got 5 pairs of blue jeans, 3 new sweatshirts, and trust God to do the extra I got a pair of sneakers and 22 pairs of new socks. You see God knew I would need sneakers and socks to wear with the jeans so he just provided those as well.
I don't know what God has planned for me at this time in my life. I am a widow living at the moment on a small income. However it's been almost a year since my husband went home to be with the Lord, and God has never failed to provide the finances to pay my bills including my car payment of $414.50 a month. I have plenty of food, a nice home, clothes to wear and shoes for my feet. I would say my provider is taking care of me quite nicely. So why then do I forget and begin to worry and fret over tomorrow? I read in a book if you are fretting, you have stopped praying. I guess I needed to share this to build my faith back up.
God bless all of you.
